TITLE: Alzheimer’s Coach ~ Regular Spring and Fall semester
(classes are held Monday and Wednesday evenings)

Basic Requirements
This certification program is designed for the professional coaches who have a minimum of an associate’s degree and an accredited coach training program, or equivalent training and experience. A desire to become a professional Alzheimer’s coach and a willingness to help create a more comprehensive vision of holistic caregiving aimed at benefitting persons who provide care for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Additionally, individuals completing this program will have a great understanding and appreciation to their own personal growth and healing, and the important role they play in affecting change.

CAC I.i Introduction to Institutional Alzheimer’s Coaching Practices (2 credits)
CAC I.ii Fundamentals of Alzheimer’s Coaching 101 (3 credits)
CAC II.i Fundamentals of Alzheimer’s Coaching 202, with fieldwork (4 credits)
CAC II.ii Advanced Alzheimer’s Coaching 303 (4 credits)
CAC III.i Advanced Alzheimer’s Coaching 404, with fieldwork (4 credits)
CAC III.ii Business of Alzheimer’s Coaching (3 credits)

Registration Fee: $697 for the entire program in 2013. Limited seats available so please apply early by requesting and completing the application form. Registration fee will be $1,267 for the entire program in 2014.

TITLE: Care Partner™ ~ Scheduled upon request

Basic Requirements
This certification program is designed for professionals and non-professionals who provide care for or assist individuals with Alzheimer’s as frontline workers. A desire to be an integral part of a large interprofessional team. A genuine interest in acquiring the best possible knowledge and practices to assist anyone who is living with Alzheimer’s and their families. A willingness to help create a more comprehensive vision of holistic caregiving aimed at benefitting persons who provide care for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Additionally, individuals completing this program will have a greater understanding and appreciation to their own personal growth and healing, and the important role in helping others.

Workshops and Keynote Topics:

TITLE:  Stay Blue and People Will Respond Well to You, Turn Red and It’s Better Not Said (for anyone)

Description:  Improve you communication style is a 3-hour workshop to introduce participants to a proven communication method based in Transactional Analysis (TA). You will learn to integrate TA principles for significant and desired communication results. This works well with individuals living with Alzheimer’s, dementias, co-workers, and in life.

Registration Fee:  $79.00 individual; $69.00 group of four from the same institution or organization. Limited to eight participants.

TITLE:  Forming an Effective Partnership with a Long-Term Care Program (for family caregivers)

Description:  Form an effective partnership to assure you continue the close supervision of specialized care and treatment of your loved one once in-home care moves to long-term care. We will demystify long-term care and harmonize the power of family caregivers, empower families to form an effective partnership with a larger team of professionals. This presentation will demonstrate how you are able to continue to be responsible for your loves one and complete the cycle of life with that individual.

Registration Fee:  $89.00 individual; $79.00 for family members who attend together.

TITLE:  Adopting the Caregiver Partnership Agreement Program™ in Your Facility (businesses and organizations)

Description:  Partnering to improve the level of services to baby boomers entering long-term care. We will explore the benefits of forming effective partnerships with family caregivers in order to increase front line personnel and reduce costs; increase your power to provide services using a solid and workable partnership; and increase job satisfaction for your existing workforce. This workshop is designed for management and leadership of facilities who provide care to individuals with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. Lots of information and handouts provided to support this workshop.

TITLE:  Learning to Speak Alzheimer’s (for family caregivers and family members)

Description:  Learn what it means to speak Alzheimer’s. This workshop introduces family caregivers and family members to the tenets and benefit of speaking Alzheimer’s. Practice to speak Alzheimer’s within the confine of the workshop. Participants will be introduced to Joanne Koenig Coste’s book entitled, Learning to Speak Alzheimer’s. Real-life examples and useful tips will be used in this workshop. Learning to speak Alzheimer’s is a requirement to effectively deliver care to anyone living with Alzheimer’s. If you want to improve your ability to communicate more effectively with the person who is living with Alzheimer’s in order to better meet their needs, register today.

TITLE:  Alzheimer’s Is a Language, Not Just a Condition (for professionals in healthcare and law enforcement)

Description:  Learn the language of Alzheimer’s in order to serve these individuals better and help society deal more effectively with the growing number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their families. Participants will be introduced to Joanne Koenig Coste’s book, Learning to Speak Alzheimer’s. Real-life examples and useful tips will be part of this workshop. Learning to speak Alzheimer’s is a requirement to properly and effective serve the public.
